About Us

At Cream with Clover, we raise miniature long-haired English cream dachshunds with care and intention. Located in the countryside of La Grange, California, our puppies grow up with wholesome nutrition, family socialization and freedom to explore in the fresh air and sunshine. Just like our name suggests: “Cream” reflects the signature color of our beautiful Dachshunds, while “Clover” is a nod to the homestead life we’re building with them by our side.

We are Mary and Shane Hilde and our journey began five years ago with a search for a breed that would be family-friendly for our 3 kids, easygoing and beautiful. It all started with our first mama, Evie, who remained our only girl for about three years. Recently, we’ve begun keeping some of her daughters to continue her gorgeous and good-natured line.

We don’t operate with traditional waitlists or breeding-for-volume practices. Instead, we’ve created an easy, transparent adoption process that centers on the well-being of every puppy and the fit of each family. When you adopt from Cream with Clover, you become part of a growing community that we hope will stay in touch long after adoption day, sharing updates, milestones, and plenty of happy tails.
